Determination of conditions for microwave propagation in the troposphere using a satellite-based transmitter
Abstract
The possibility of using a satellite-based transmitter to determine the conditions of microwave propagation at near-horizontal angles is evaluated. It is shown that a change in the reception angle associated with atmospheric refraction leads to a change in the Doppler frequency shift. It is shown that atmospheric refraction can be assessed on the basis of signal time lag.
