Massive parallelism for image processing
Abstract
The principles underlying the choice of cellular machines for image processing are examined, and a classification of such machines is presented. Various examples of cellular machines are discussed, including Illiac, CLIP 4, the Massively Parallel Processor (designed for the processing of satellite images), the distributed array processor, the adaptive array processor, pyramid machines, pipeline machines, and systolic processors.
