Worldwide radionavigation planning
Abstract
Radionavigation planning has been receiving considerable attention in the United States and througout the world. The U.S. radionavigation community is familiar with the work of the U.S. government. The U.S. Federal Radionavigation Plan is a very familiar document to this community. Few members of the community, however, are familiar with the work of international organizations and how the work of these organizations impacts the U.S. Federal Radionavigation Plan as well as worldwide radionavigation planning. The activities of ICAO, IALA, IMO, IHO, CCIR and ITU are reviewed. The activities of these international organizations, with regard to how they affect and shape U.S. planning, is then analyzed.
