Plane wave diffraction by a serrated surface with blunt serrations
Abstract
The method of the partial inversion of a matrix operator is used to obtain a rigorous solution to the problem of the diffraction of plane E-polarized waves by an echelette grating with blunt serrations. The algorithm developed here is based on the consecutive inversion of several systems of linear algebraic equations of the second kind for which good convergence is obtained with the truncation method. Several implementations of the computational algorithms are examined from the standpoint of computational efficiency and accuracy.
