An evaluation of the performance of data transmission systems using the real carrying capacity as the criterion
Abstract
The effect of the principal operation and technical factors on the real carrying capacity of data transmission systems is evaluated. Particular attention is given to the effect of the nonlinearity of the characteristics of radio-electronic devices, nonideality of the conditions of radio wave propagation, frequency-time mismatch of the reception-transmission channel and its inertia, and system reliability. Other factors discussed include relativistic effects associated with data transmission at superhigh velocities.
