Advances in the Theory of Plasma Ion-Acoustic Turbulence
Abstract
Results in ion-acoustic turbulence (IAT) theory obtained from the analytical solution of kinetic equations for ion-acoustic waves and plasma electrons are reviewed. Certain applications of IAT theory are considered, with particular attention given to IAT manifestations during the interaction between radiation and a turbulent plasma. It is noted that the IAT spectrum is an index of the high efficiency of radiation absorption by the plasma because of the transformation of the radiation into longitudinal perturbations.
