Telemetry (TM)/telecommand (TC) processor study
Abstract
Functions to be performed to receive telemetry from and send telemetry to a satellite system during assembly, integration and testing activities at system level, using ESA-type checkout equipment architecture, were identified. A telemetry/telecommand processor (TTP) model was defined. The TTP should consist of at least two physically separated building blocks: a transport subsystem (TTPT), and a management subsystem (TTPM). The TTPM acts as a gateway to the TM/TC data transfer system. A star-type communication system between electrical ground support equipment is recommended. The MTP comprises the centralized facilities for the control of the master test sequence and of the overall test configuration. The TTPM comprises the centralized facilities for TM data distribution, and TC data acquisition and time distribution.
