Axial and tangential vibrations modes for semi-free liquid spheres in microgravity nodal circles and nodal points position
Abstract
Reference is made to an earlier study (Bisch, 1982) in which the existence of a nodal circle on liquid spherical caps subject, under microgravity, to axial oscillations with a frequency corresponding to the principal resonance has been shown. New experimental and theoretical results are used here to complete the above study and to extend it to any frequency of order n. New results obtained for semi-free liquid spheres subject to tangential vibration are also presented.
