Development of a computer program for calculation and investigation of ascending paths in greatcircle planes for nstage launchers with kickpossibility into earth orbit
Abstract
Cheaper launching systems will have to be developed in order to satisfy the spacerelated demands of today. Before defining the hardware, it will be necessary to calculate different ascending paths to obtain a basis for device optimization. The present investigation is concerned with the current status of a computer program which is being written to perform the required calculations. After finishing the propulsion phase, it is possible to calculate a kick into earth orbit, if a minimum flight altitude of 90 km is reached. Attention is given to the assumptions made with respect to the program, a mathematical model, a model of forces, the aerodynamic forces acting on a flying vehicle, an aerodynamic model, a model of estimation of structure masses and dimensions of launchers, and a model regarding the 'kick into earth orbit'.
