Configuration space Faddeev calculations
Abstract
Threebody calculations provide a useful tool for investigating corrections to the present models of nuclear physics. The computer codes required to obtain accurate solutions for the threebody problem in configuration space are being developed. Preliminary calculations of the effect of a threebody force on the trinucleon system were completed. A framework was constructed for building quark models exhibiting Poincare invariance, confinement, scattering, and particle production. Since these degrees of freedom are generally probed with electroweak probes, the necessary conditions on the electroweak current operators were worked out so they transform as 4vector under the unitary representation of the Poincare group associated with a given relativistic model, and have constructed classes of currents with this property. Finally, any multiparticle amplitude can be related to the scattering amplitude for the crossed reaction, and as a consequence, derived relations between single particle production scattering amplitudes.
