The principal characteristics of turbulent flows and their use in the study of transport processes
Abstract
The possibility of using two-parameter turbulence models for calculating effective viscosity in wall boundary layers developing in turbulent flows is assessed. Recommendations concerning the selection of coefficients and experimental determination of parameters for energy-scale and energy-dissipation models are given. For each of the models, the applicability limits are defined, and ways to expand these limits are examined.
