Measurements of film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer on a flat plate
Abstract
Measurements on film cooling for a single row of holes as the basic blowing configuration are reported. The influence of the hole spacing to diameter ratio and the influence of the inclination of the holes to the surface is investigated on a flat plate at a Reynolds number of 300,000 and mainstream temperature of 100 C. Results are given in terms of film cooling effectiveness measured on an adiabatic model and in terms of heat transfer ratio for blowing and nonblowing conditions on a heat transfer model at different positions and blowing rates.
