Convection in a rotating annular cavity
Abstract
A numerical study has been made of natural and forced convection in a vertical annular cavity formed between two concentric cylinders and two horizontal planes. The inner cylinder and either of the horizontal surfaces are stationary and cooled. Solutions have been obtained for an air-filled cavity of aspect ratio 1 and radius ratio 2 for a range of values of Reynolds number from zero to 1000 and Rayleigh number from zero to 200,000.
