Cryogenic millimeter wave receiver for the Metsaehovi radio telescope
Abstract
A cooled Schottky mixer receiver with DSB noise temperature of 80 to 140 K in the frequency range 75 to 95 GHz was built for radio astronomical observations. The quasioptical beam switching and calibration system is followed by a cooled low-noise mixer and FET amplifier at 1.4 GHz. The receiver is used for quasar and molecular line measurements and antenna tests with a 13.7 m radio telescope.
