Structural studies on lead dioxides
Abstract
Recent neutron-scattering studies on battery-plate lead dioxides indicate that these materials contain hydrogen and are nonstoichiometric. Such defects are also currently being investigated by other powerful techniques such as X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. An attempt on correlation is made to establish between the crystal and the electrochemical properties of lead dioxides. Significant findings of research done during the past few years relating to the defect structure of lead dioxides are discussed.
