Multigrid techniques: The 1984 guide with applications to fluid dynamics
Abstract
Multigrid techniques and insights are summarized. These techniques are then applied to fluid dynamics. The following topics are discussed: boundary value problems, relaxation, smoothing factors, full multigrid algorithms, CauchyRiemann equations, NavierStokes equations, Euler equations, multigrid improvements, and artificial viscosity in quasilinear formulations.
