An information theoretical method for automatic noise elimination in digital image processing
Abstract
A universal noise elimination method based on systems and information theoretical considerations was developed. Versatility and problems of noise elimination are demonstrated and defined according to sources. The method of redundancy reduction is specified. The advantages of this spatial and frequency autonomous operation enable universal applications of redundancy reduction. The effects on digital halftone images are verified by samples of different origin and structure. The application of this method for noise elimination and non-noise related reductions is discussed.
