Carrier and timing recovery for MSK-type I and Q receivers
Abstract
The fundamental problem with MSK-type carrier recovery schemes is that they result in a 90 deg phase ambiguity. On the other hand most receivers proposed to date can only handle a 180 deg phase uncertainty. This paper discusses the problem and proposes a solution which is a combination of two ideas from the literature. The final result is a robust I and Q demodulator for MSK, DMSK and TFM modulations.
