Satellite link augmentation of a Datapac type packet switched data network
Abstract
Use of satellite link augmentation to improve performance in the DATAPAC ground based packet switched data network is considerd. A time delay analysis of tandem connections of priority queues, in conjunction with the flow deviation routing algorithm is used to determine delay performance for several network configurations. Performance improvements are discussed, and extensive computer simulation results are used to back up the analysis. The use of a fully connected network as a design tool is also discussed.
