Coding for satellite channels
Abstract
Important problems in error coding applications for digital communication satellite channels are discussed. The justification for using error controls in satellite communications is reviewed, and coding performance is briefly considered. Block coding is discussed, and the application of a multilevel phase modec to error coding is addressed. Finally, the orchard scheme coding system proposed by Scott and Geotschel (1981) is summarized.
