Pulse and spectrum shaping with soft-limiter
Abstract
The concept of pulse and spectrum shaping with nonlinearities is introduced, with a soft-limiter considered as a specific example of nonlinearity. The temporal and spectral behavior of cosine, raised-cosine, and triangular signaling pulses passing through soft-limiters is reported. Preliminary results indicate that the concept is viable, and it is noted that evident beneficial temporal and/or spectral effects result from such processing.
