Dynamical Evolution of Two-Component Stellar Systems - Gravitational Focusing Effect
Abstract
To examine the effect of gravitational focusing, the dynamical evolution of two-component stellar systems if followed. This is done by solving the Fokker-Planck equation numerically. The results show that the gravitational focusing is not so effective as to inhibit the mass segregation instability.
