Influence of the nature of the gas flow on the characteristics of an N2O-N2-He gasdynamic laser
Abstract
The changes in the gain are calculated for an N2O-N2-He gasdynamic laser with a rectangular channel cross section. The gain characteristics are studied experimentally as functions of the braking and nozzle parameters (phi, h asterisk, A sub a/A asterisk), the distance from the nozzle cutoff, the transverse distance from the axis, the environmental pressure ratio, and the composition of the mixture for two- and three-dimensional flows. Flow conditions are determined under which the dissociation of N2O molecules significantly decreases the gain.
