Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride chamber for Moessbauer studies to 200 kbar
Abstract
A pressure chamber is described for Moessbauer studies of samples of area 1 sq mm. The structural material in the chamber consists of weakly absorbing, mechanically strong cubic boron nitride polycrystals, which permits experiments up to 200 kbar with a constant solid angle. A manganin sensor continuously monitors the pressure near the sample (absorber). The chamber was used for Moessbauer studies of tin.
