Direct experimental observation of electron waves excited by an acoustic wave in a semiconductor in a varying electric field
Abstract
The results of an experimental observation of electron waves excited by acoustic waves in a semiconductor film are presented. The film was located in the variable electric field produced by a periodic lattice of ohmic junctions. The distinctive features of the spectrum and the variation of the signal levels of the combination frequencies with electric field strength are discussed, and it is concluded that stimulated electron waves were actually observed. A diagram of the experimental setup is provided.
