Numerical solution to the equations of a three-dimensional mixing layer
Abstract
The paper describes a numerical method for solving the equations of a three-dimensional laminar multicomponent mixing layer in the presence of a pressure gradient. The method is based on the invariance of the equations of the mixing layer written in Dorodnitsyn variables to the transformation of transverse-coordinate shear to an arbitrary smooth function of transverse coordinates, and uses a highly accurate finite-difference scheme. Numerical results are presented for a mixing layer arising in the case of three-dimensional flow past blunt bodies of various shapes, from whose surface intense gas blowing occurs.
