Influence of radiational damage on the background of internal friction
Abstract
It is experimentally established that, with the accumulation of radiational defects arising in neutron irradiation, the high-temperature background of internal friction of iron and nickel samples decreases. A hypothesis regarding the possible mechanism of this effect is proposed. A simple expression is given for estimating the magnitude of the background.
