An analysis of the threedimensional velocity field of a free laminar jet issuing from a rectangular nozzle
Abstract
Results are presented of an analytical study of threedimensional incompressible fluid jets issuing from a rectangular nozzle into a slipstream of a fluid whose physical properties are similar to those of the jet. The analysis is based on solving the NavierStokes equations in the approximation of a threedimensional boundary layer. The resulting threedimensional velocity profiles are shown in graphical form.
