Analysis of the multistep method for longterm orbit prediction
Abstract
A method to estimate the value of any orbital parameter, given a number of previous data at equally spaced intervals is presented. The differential equation describing satellite orbits and its mathematical treatment are discussed. The method requires relatively small function variations. A combination with the stroboscopic method adapted to integration in one orbit produces a valuable prediction tool. The limits of applicability are discussed.
