Propagation research of a satellite communication path at the Technical University, Eindhoven (The Netherlands) using OTS: Modeling and measurements
Abstract
The modeling of electromagnetic wave damping and depolarization by rain was investigated to create a base for satellite communication systems design. Models for Intelsat concerning adaptive compensation for depolarization are discussed. Propagation measurements results with OTS are described. Processing programs were developed. Using these results, statements concerning the absorber temperature to be used when predicting the damping with a radiometer are given. Data processing recommendations for future experiments are presented.
