Study of heat exchangers between a liquid loop feeder and a heat-pipe radiator
Abstract
Heat exchanger designs, capable of transporting 2500 W from the cooling liquid (Freon 114) to the vapor of the radiator heat pipes were developed. The thermal, flow, mass, micrometeorite vulnerability, and manufacturing performance were analyzed. A finned evaporator concept, concentric interface concept, clamped folded-interface concept, and soldered interface concept are described. Best performance predictions are obtained for the clamped interface concept.
