A satellite broadcast receiving terminal
Abstract
Input and output requirements, the design, and the construction of a satellite Earth station for reception of television and radio signals in remote rural communities, from a satellite with a strong beam are described. The station receives from the GORIZONT-2 satellite at 4 GHz. Television and radio broadcasts are received at Eindhoven (Netherlands) from the All-Union station in Moscow. Other, weaker, stations can be received, albeit less clearly, from other transponders of GORIZONT-2 and GORIZONT-3 satellites. The same receiver, placed in other locations, can be used to receive from satellites operating at S or C-band, such as the INSAT or Arabsat.
