Numerical treatment of the Young interference fringes in the presence of speckle
Abstract
A numerical analysis to determine fringe configuration and orientation is presented. The two dimensional very fast Fourier transform is utilized. Two examples concerning laser chronophotography in instantaneous fluid velocities are included. The feasibility of the method is demonstrated, but limitations remain for the automatic computer processing, since it takes 30 min computation to visualize the results.
