Elastic wave gyrometer
Abstract
The feasibility of applying the parametric waves produced by two Rayleigh waves traveling in opposite directions to measure angular displacement is analyzed. An experimental device produced a small amplitude parametric wave. The analysis shows that the Coriolis acceleration changes only the amplitude of the parametric wave in a first order perturbation computation. Larger order perturbations are not studied since the sensitivity would be to small.
