DORIS: Prediction in Doppler measurement
Abstract
Studies to improve the Doppler measurement of satellite orbital parameters are presented. The prediction errors induced by the imperfections of the extrapolation model are evaluated. The minimization of the number of coefficients in the parameterization of a Doppler curve by an arctan function is proposed. The modeling of a Doppler curve by time-shift and selection of a reference curve is suggested. In the case of SPOT satellite a 800 km zenith passage is adopted. A minimization of the onboard computations is obtained by Doppler positioning by extrapolation of orbital parameters received regularly.
