An improved battery state-of-charge indicator
Abstract
An adaptive battery parameter algorithm which would compensate for aging batteries and varying environmental conditions was developed and implemented in the FORTRAN software. The state of charge indicator consists of a microcomputer system which is used to acquire battery data, exercise the software program, and provide system control for the battery charger. The control system has four operational modes: (1) discharge monitoring; (2) charging; (3) wake-up; and (4) think (parameter adaptation).
