TRACR3D: A model of flow and transport in porous/fractured media
Abstract
The TRACR3D computer code, which solves the equations of transient two-phase flow and multicomponent transport in deformable, heterogeneous reactive porous/fractured media is described. Solutions are obtained by an implicit finite difference scheme for flow and semi-implicit approach for transport. The equations of the model, the numerical solution procedure, partial verification and validation of the model and user's guide are described. The TRACR3D can be used to study radioactive waste migration from repositories in unsaturated and saturated geology, chemical waste storage, soil water movement, and tests that define hydrocarbon reservoir structure.
