Recommendations for the use of Ni-Cr-base alloy extensometers for measurement of creep strain
Abstract
Recommendations for the use of extensometers manufactured from Ni-Cr-base alloys for the measurement of creep strains at high temperature are given. Procedures for avoiding or minimizing the effects of dimensional changes associated with the order/disorder transformation that occurs in these alloys are outlined and technical support for the recommendations is provided. Effects due to dimensional changes resulting from precipitation and from thermal fluctuations are compared.
