Data handling for the Spectral Radiometer (SPERAD)
Abstract
Data handling of a radiometer for measuring radiant intensity in the infrared region of the spectrum is described. Data are stored on an instrumentation tape recorder, digitally in serial form. Large data volumes are generated. The method used to convert starting mode data to computer tape, which can be read by DEC-10 computer is outlined. A small laboratory computer, the Data-board 4680, is used for the conversion, and during the process a lot of redundant information is removed from the flow of data. The first steps of handling radiometer-data on the DEC-10 computer are also described.
