Anglo-German millimeter wave backscatter measurements on snow, environmental data report
Abstract
Millimeter wave radar measurements were conducted to assess the reflection coefficient of snow covered terrain. Measurements were accompanied by an environmental characterization to investigate the relations between environmental factors, mostly features of the snow cover, and radar reflectivity. The meteorological measurements and the snow characterization are summarized. Instrumentation and data extraction are described.
