DYNKIN: A computer program for the description of detailed gas reactions in interaction with gas dynamics
Abstract
The computer code DYNKIN (FORTRAN 5) with which detailed gas reactions in interaction with gas dynamics can be simulated was developed. The code is suitable for problems involving one-dimensional, Cartesian coordinates; nonviscous gases; nonconductive heat-and mass transport; ideal gas law. Modelling is limited to processes in which the velocities are relatively high (as in detonations). Calculations of a detonation in a stoichiometric hydrogen-air mixture are described. Recommendations for the improvement of the code are given, such as the implementation of conductive heat transport and the extension to spherical/cylindrical coordinates, to treat subsonic processes, such as deflagrations.
