A high resolution system for analogue recording and digital processing of measured values in fusion research
Abstract
A recording and processing system to investigate the parameters of a fusion plasma and plasma-wall interaction is presented. A hybrid system consisting of an analog tape recorder combined with a computerized digital acquisition and processing system was elaborated to obtain a temporal resolution of 100 kHz sampling rate over a period of 4 sec for several parallel signal channels. The digital signals are used to preselect the relevant intervals to be retrieved for detailed processing. The output signals of the tape recorder are fed into analog to digital converters. Frequency responses of 0.2 to 300 kHz for direct channels and 40 kHz for DC FM-channels are obtained for a tape speed of 100 ips.
