Diffraction of a line sink field
Abstract
The problem of a line sink field scattered by a halfplane is solved by simple reasoning without performing any explicit calculations. The solution is useful both as a canonical problem for the geometrical theory of diffraction and as the simplest possible example of an exact diffraction problem containing a caustic.
