BAIL III; Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Boundary and Interior Layers - Computational and Asymptotic Methods, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, June 20-22, 1984
Abstract
Various papers on computational and asymptotic methods in the study of boundary and interior layers are presented. The major papers address: theoretical and computational aspects of interior layers in the atmosphere; asymptotic and boundary layer methods in the analysis of delamination for composite materials; the conservation, stability, and convergence of the prediction-correction method for a nonlinear equation; singular perturbations of nonlinear boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations; and asymptotic methods in the problems of thin elastic shells. Other major papers discuss: the numerical solution of equations with interior and exterior boundary layers on a nonuniform mesh; accuracy and stability control of one-step methods of integration of ordinary differential equations; asymptotic and numerical methods for singularly perturbed boundary value problems in ordinary differential equations; and nonlinear steady and unsteady aerodynamic prediction methods based on the full potential equation.
