A survey of the hydrodynamical behavior of many-particle systems
Abstract
In this article some recent results are reviewed concerning the hydrodynamical behavior of microscopic systems. Stochastic systems of interacting particles are the central theme in this survey. In a description of stochastic models, simple exclusion is discussed along with the voter model, the zero range, simple exclusion with speed change, Glauber dynamics, Gibbs measures, reversible Markov processes, and invariant and reversible measures for the models. Attention is also given to harmonic oscillators, one-dimensional hard rods, local equilibrium distributions, hydrodynamical equations, generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes, Green-Kubo formulas, fluctuation fields, the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, small deviations, the nonequilibrium statistical operator, and stationary nonequilibrium distributions.
