High speed photography, videography, and photonics II; Proceedings of the Meeting, San Diego, CA, August 21, 22, 1984
Abstract
Investigations related to high speed photography are discussed, taking into account studies of ignition and combustion wave propagation in exothermic ceramic systems using high-speed photography, a means of extending streak camera recording into the important 1300-1600 nm wavelength regime, and a test of high building vibration and deformation during earthquake by a high speed camera with a moire fringe technique. Other topics considered are concerned with high speed photography applications, videography, and high speed imaging. Attention is given to the determination of the response of a propeller to bird strike using high speed photography, latest techniques related to low light level sensors, the application of a videometric analysis system to biomechanical gait measurement, a submicrosecond electro-optical shutter, time-resolved spectroscopy of evanescent-wave excited fluorescence, machine vision techniques for high speed videography, and an LED illuminator for high strain rate materials studies.
