Fiber optic and laser sensors II; Proceedings of the Meeting, Arlington, VA, May 1, 2, 1984
Abstract
Papers are presented on optical sensing technologies by multimode fibers, analysis of a three-fiber lever transducer, fiber optic sensors utilizing surface reflections, single-mode integrated-optical polarizers in LiNbO3 and glass waveguides, and thermal dependence of stress-induced birefringence in single-mode optical fibers. Consideration is given to a low loss fiber optic directional coupler, temporal birefringence fluctuations observed in some single-mode fibers, a multi-GHz multichannel photonic analog data processing system, fiber-optic magnetometer design, a fiber-optic gradient hydrophone, and a low-loss fiber ring resonator. Attention is also given to out-of-plane laser gyro configurations and magnetic biases, a passive resonator gyro, a passive fiber-optic gyroscope, and an all-fiber-optic gyroscope with linear scale factor using phase detection.
