Torsional flows between coaxial cylinders
Abstract
The torsional flow of an incompressible conducting fluid with memory (governed by the linearized constitutive equations of Fetecau, 1976), between coaxial cylinders is investigated analytically. The formulation of the problem is developed; the reduction to a system of integrodifferential equations with initial and boundary conditions is explained; the uniqueness of the solution is proved; and the limiting case of the flow through a simple cylinder is considered.
