Intensity of radiowave scattering on anisotropic irregularities with various positions of scattering volume about caustic zone
Abstract
An expression is obtained in the Born approximation for the intensity of radio wave scattering by magnetically oriented irregularities in the ionosphere in the case of variations of the mean refractive index of the medium. The scattering is assumed to be by arbitrarily oriented anisotropic irregularities in a stratified inhomogeneous medium, and different azimuths of incident as well as scattered waves are considered. A determination is made of the features characterizing foreshortened scattering in the illuminated region and the caustic zone, as well as in the shadow zone.
