Influence of edge effects on performance of electrooptical lens
Abstract
The influence of edge effects on electrooptical lens performance is quantitatively assessed by solving the problem of the potential distribution in a crystal with semiinfinite electrodes. Significant distortions are detected along the x axis, which are plotted as a function of the instance from the center of the lens, demonstrating good agreement between the theoretical and experimental data. The nature and amount of distortions are found as a function of the degree of limiting of the electrodes.
